UX Design Manager for Workday Help & Journeys
1. Overview
Product Design Manager at Workday, working with two product teams in Europe and the US & Canada. I work with two product spaces, Workday Help and Workday Journeys.
My role: Product Design Manager
UX team: 5 UX Designers
– Mentoring and coaching Product Designers in their careers, working towards promotion
– Hiring across UX Design, Product, Engineering disciplines
– Roadmap planning and prioritisation of work with UX team and product and engineering partners
– Creating an open and collaborative working environment for the team to collaborate in
– Connecting with users and customers through in person workshops, facilitating user testing for the UX team
Weekly UX team WIP / Critique Session
• Weekly critique work in progress session with UX team
• Team members sign up to present work, frame problem, and critique as a group
• All team members silently review work and leave comments
• Presenter walks through work and groups feedback into themes for iteration of work
• Designer summarises feedback and next steps to share with team
